TGIF @ BROOKHAVEN on Friday, Dec. 14th, 2007:

***Special Event: Christmas Party with live music by the 20-pc. Big Band: “Bill Wilkinson & the LI Sound Orchestra”;

$25(paid in adv, before Dec. 7th)/$30(email reservation)/$35(at the door). Only 200 tickets will be available. If sold out before the event, no tickets will be sold at the door.

Buffet dinner: 7 - 8 pm; complimentary dance lesson at 8:00 pm; the band plays from 8:30 pm to 11:30 pm; DJ music in-between sets; general dancing until midnight.

NOTE: OPTIONAL FORMAL ATTIRE/DRESS TO IMPRESS! THE BAND MEMBERS WILL BE WEARING TUXEDOS grin

BNL Social & Cultural Club (BNL)

The BNL Social & Cultural Club holds weekly dance socials (TGIFs) and workshops at the North Ballroom, Brookhaven Center, Brookhaven National Laboratory every Friday evening from 7 to 11:30 pm.

Unless otherwise noted, workshops and lessons are from 7:10 pm to 9:30 pm with a food break in-between, followed by open social dancing up to 11:30 pm at the Brookhaven Center, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, New York.

Cost per person: $15(members)/$20(non-members), or $8/$12 for social dancing only without the lessons; members rate applies also to all Bera members with BNL ID, SDLI members with ID, students with school ID, and all subscribers of the Social-L list and the Yahoo DanceLovers group. (Special events have different rates).

Dance socials are open to the general public, but require a photo-id at the BNL front gate.

You're Invited!

Join a friendly group of people for a mix of East Coast Swing, Savoy Lindy Hop, Hollywood Lindy, West Coast Swing, Balboa, Collegiate Shag and some Ballroom dancing. No partner is needed and beginners are welcome.

Every Tuesday Evening

Beginner dance lessons start at 7:30 PM with dancing between 8:00 PM & 10:30 PM. We meet at the grand ballroom of Pomodorino Ristorante Italiano, 648 Motor Parkway, Hauppauge, NY.

Admission on non-band nights is $4 for members, $5 for students and $6 for nonmembers. Slightly higher band nights.

First Saturday of Month

We meet at the Smithtown Historical Society's Brush Barn. Beginner swing lesson at 7:30 PM, with dancing between 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM.
