A note from Margaret, president of NYSDS-
I would like to announce two wonderful awards for excellence have been given to lifelong friends and contributors to the New York Swing Dance Society, Vince Giordano and Dawn Hampton, and they deserve our heartfelt congratulations. We are thrilled for them and they couldn’t be more deserving of these prestigious awards!
In order of awards received:
First I would like to congratulate Vince Giordano, and his Nighthawks, who have played for our NYSDS dances from the early days of the Cat Club and still recently at St Jean’s, for his Grammy Award.
“Grammy Award Winner! Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks won a Grammy at the 54th Grammy Awards for Best Compilation Soundtrack for their CD “Boardwalk Empire Volume 1 - music from the HBO original series.”
Secondly, I would like to congratulate our loyal friend and consummate performer, and now author, who had been a supporter of the NYSDS since the initial days of the Cat Club as well, Dawn Hampton!
