Just a reminder, there will be no SDLI Saturday Barn Dance in December. This historical society typically runs their holiday events during the first weekend in December and the Barn is unavailable.

Tuesday, Dec 4, 2012 • Tuesday Swing Dance At Moose Lodge • SDLI

A beginner east coast swing lesson will be given at 7:30PM to get you on the floor. At 8PM our DJs will be playing some of their great swing dance tunes. A few ballroom dances will be in the mix as well.

The recently renovated Moose Lodge has a fabulous, HUGE 1000 square foot dance floor, freshly painted walls, new ceiling, new lighting & plenty of tables to relax and chat.

No partner is needed and beginners are always welcome.

Sunday, Dec 16, 2012 • Big Bad Voodo Daddy at Paramount •

BBVD is a fresh and bluesy take on the classic big band sound.  Get warmed up with fine selections by DJ Gonzo. If you are new to the dance floor, we will be offering a free beginner lesson (with ticket purchase). Learn a few simple moves to get you up and out of your seat and bopping on the floor.  For the more seasoned dancers, we will be offering a chance to strut your stuff in The Paramount Swing Dance contest. The winners receive a seat upgrade. So don’t be shy and come out and show us your best steps and flips.

BBVD will perform at The Paramount in Huntington on Sunday, December 16th 2012 at 8 PM.

Swing Dance Long Island and The Paramount will host The Paramount Swing Dance Contest at 6:00 PM.

Free dance lesson at 6 PM. Contest at 6:30 PM. Contestants must purchase a ticket to the show. Prize will include a trophy, free entry to an SDLI event and an upgrade to seats in the balcony.

Thursday, Dec 20, 2012 • Ballroom Lessons at the Moose • Not a SDLI Event

Ball room dance lessons at the Huntington Moose Lodge in Greenlawn on Thursday evenings at 8 PM, Cost $10 per person no partner required. Music and practice after the lesson. The bar will be opened for drinks.
The schedule is: November 29th, December 13th and December 20th. No dance lessons on December 27th.......

Some say New Year’s Eve is amateur night; that’s ‘cause all the dames and dapper gents know the real party is the night before - at THE SALON - what we like to call NEW YEAR’s EVE EVE. This year the Salon continues the tradition, with another spectacular lineup of more than 40 performers for your lounging and dancing pleasure!

This year’s venue is THE DL, an elegant new club built into two brownstones that were combined to create a beautiful three floor venue, each featuring its own bar and dance floor, plus the huge rooftop lounge even has a separate outdoor smoking area… bring your cigars and pipes!
