Vanderbilt Museum Independence Festival
The Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum & Planetarium will be celebrating Independence Day in Vanderbilt style with its first annual Independence Festival. There will be something for everyone, including a live reptile show, crafts and antiques, costumed interpreters, music, Shakespeare performances, children’s theater, laser rock shows and planetarium sky shows. Learn to dance the Charleston or talk politics with some 1930s celebrities. Visitors will be welcome to bring a picnic and a blanket to enjoy the Northport Harbor view of area fireworks and live music on Saturday night.
Festival Hours Saturday and Sunday 12-5 Rain or Shine. Special Festival Fee $10 adults, $8 students and seniors, $5 children under 12
Saturday
Museum Hours 10-5, Planetarium shows on the hour 11-4, Laser Beatles at 7PM, One Small Step Planetarium Sky Show at 8 PM, Laser U2 at 9 PM and Pink Floyd at 10PM. Daytime Shows additional $5 adults, $3 children. Nighttime Laser shows $10, no additional admission fee.
