The Museum of the City of New York is hosting a summer concert series every Wednesday night through the end of August. The August 17th band is a retro boogie-woogie group by the name of The Tickled Pinks. Yehoodi will also be in attendance to teach swing dance to concert goers. Admission is regularly $15.00, but they will give the member rate ($10) to anyone who mentions Swing Dance Long Island. Admission also includes a drink ticket for a beverage or snack at the bar as well as admission to the museum.
Reminiscent of the Andrew Sisters, The Tickled Pinks features boogie-woogie: a retro style and sultry sound that also includes pre-war “barbershop quartet†harmonies. The band includes—in addition to the three female vocalists—brass, keyboard, and an upright bass.
