LITMA and SDLI’s 5th Annual
Contra/Swing Dance
Long Island Traditional Music Association (LITMA) and Swing Dance Long Island (SDLI) are teaming up for a Contra /Swing Dance once again!

Singles and beginners welcome! No partner necessary!

Dances include contra, swings and waltzes.

7:00 –7:30 Beginner 6 Count Swing Lesson
7:30 – 8:00 Contra Lesson
During the Break - Intermediate Swing Lesson
8:00 – 11:00 General Dancing

Door Prizes & Snacks / Refreshments. Please bring your favorite snack to share.

Brooklyn Swing Ensemble
Its members include Sam Zygmuntowicz (fiddle, mandolin); Danny Elias (clarinet, dumbek), Bill Peek (piano, guitar, banjo) and Joe Depaolo (percussion). With all that talent, they whip up a storm that’ll rock your socks off. These are the kinds of musicians who can do most anything and tonight, they’ll provide both swing and contra dance tune sets.

Eric Hollman - Caller / Dance Instructor
Eric Hollman is a popular swing and Cajun teacher and contra dance caller in the Hudson Valley and beyond. His motto, “If you can walk, you can dance,” combined with his lucid teaching and infectious good humor, ensures a happy time for all.

The Smithtown Historical Society’s Brush Barn is located behind the historic Epenetus Smith Tavern at 211 East Main Street, Smithtown NY 11787 and is not visible from the street. About 0.2 miles east on Main Street from the intersection of Route 111 and Route 25 (Main Street).  There is a white house that is #211 (Epenetus Smith Tavern) and a gravel drive beside the house.
